This Thai Rattanakosin bronze Buddha has been examined through surface inspection, microscopic imaging and evaluation of the casting and underside. The sculpture is heavily cast at 18.4 kg and preserves remains of its original fire gilding, identified by the granular metal structure of mercury-applied gold and deep, naturally developed cuprite and tenorite in the recessed areas. The underside shows a single-piece casting plate with a trimmed sprue, consistent with 19th-century Bangkok workshop production.
