Description

This finely cast Thai bronze Buddha statue stands 55 cm tall and weighs 15 kg, reflecting the stylistic characteristics of the late Rattanakosin period. The smooth modelling, balanced proportions and subtle surface transitions correspond to traditional Thai workshop techniques of the late 19th and early 20th century.

Microscopic inspection reveals natural bronze ageing: tin- and copper-oxide formation, corrosion pockets, polished devotional wear zones and hand-finished tool marks. UV examination confirms the absence of synthetic coatings or modern interventions. The base is sealed with an aged porous filler typical of older Thai bronzes.

The figure presents as an authentic historical Thai Buddhist sculpture, culturally consistent with temple bronzes from Thailand during this period.
