Large Buddha Statue for Sale 15th-Century Thailand
This large bronze Buddha statue for sale is one of our favourite pieces. It measures 75 cm in height and weighs over 14 kg, originating from 15th century Thailand with ones fully ivory eyes. What fascinates me is the inscription “27 11 11”, hidden near the base. It is clearly not original, perhaps added later by a museum or even during wartime. Its purpose remains a mystery, but it adds another layer of history to the statue. Crafted in the refined Northern Sukhothai or early Ayutthaya tradition, with delicate features and a lotus pedestal, the piece shows authentic traces of fire gilding confirmed under UV and microscopy. This Large Buddha Sculpture is one of a kind.

Large Buddha Statue for Sale 15th-Century Thailand
Description
This Large Buddha Sculpture stands about 75 cm high and weighs over 13 kg. Dated to the 15th century, it reflects the calm dignity of early Sukhothai and Ayutthaya art. The statue sits on a double lotus base, with finely modelled features and separately cast hands—details that reveal the precision and devotion invested in its making. A trace of ivory in the left eye adds rarity and refinement, marking it as more than a simple Buddha Sculpture.
Inside this Buddha Sculpture, traces of hardened resin, mineral deposits, and salt crystals confirm its age and long ritual use. The most curious feature is an inverted inscription “27 11 11.” It was likely added during a later reconsecration, perhaps in 1911, or even by a collector or museum. Such markings deepen the historical narrative of this Bronze Buddha Sculpture and connect it to centuries of devotion.
Under UV light, scattered gilded areas glow in a yellow-green tone, confirming remnants of early fire gilding on the surface. The statue has not been re-coated in modern times; the visible patina developed naturally over hundreds of years, a hallmark of an authentic Bronze Buddha.
This is not merely a decorative Bronze Buddha Sculpture but a consecrated temple object that has travelled through time with its story intact — a true Buddha Statue for Sale that embodies craftsmanship, ritual use, and historical authenticity.
