This nineteenth-century Thai bronze Buddha was validated through UV examination, microscopic review of surface residues and assessment of casting characteristics. The figure preserves original fire-gilding within recessed areas and shows naturally developed patina layers typical of early Rattanakosin bronzes. No indicators of recent repair, modern pigments or artificial surface treatment were detected. The lotus base and ritual platform form an original, period-correct assembly.

This early Rattanakosin bronze Buddha, dating to ca. 1800–1840, is finely cast and displays the balanced symmetry and calm expression characteristic of Thai Buddhist sculpture. The Buddha is seated in dhyana mudra (meditation), with the right hand in bhumisparsha mudra, symbolizing the moment of enlightenment.
He sits on a double lotus throne set above a square ritual pedestal with floral panels and claw feet. The flame-shaped ushnisha is integrally cast, consistent with traditional Thai lost-wax bronze work.
