Thai Gilded Bronze Buddha in Royal Attire – Rattanakosin Style, Early–Mid 20th Century
A finely cast Thai gilt bronze Buddha seated in Bhumisparsha Mudra (earth-touching gesture), richly adorned in royal attire with crown, winged shoulder ornaments, and an elaborately patterned robe. The Buddha is shown on a stepped base with ornamental detailing, in the Rattanakosin style.
This type of Buddha image symbolizes the majesty of enlightenment combined with the regal iconography of the Thai court. Such figures were popular in the early to mid 20th century for use in household shrines and small altars.

Thailand, Rattanakosin tradition, early–mid 20th century (ca. 1930–1960).
Material & Technique
Cast bronze alloy with gilding on surface. The underside shows hollow casting with darkened patina, consistent with traditional Thai workshop practice.
Condition
Good overall condition with natural patina, minor wear to gilding, and small casting irregularities from hand production. No modern repairs observed.
