This bronze depicts Avalokiteshvara, the bodhisattva of compassion, shown in an elegant four armed form with a crown and rich ornament. The figure stands on a lotus pedestal and carries a lotus detail near the shoulder, while one hand is raised in a calm protective gesture that reads as abhaya mudra. The drapery is refined and can look feminine, which is normal for bodhisattva iconography. The surface shows an aged patina with darker tones in recesses and lighter wear on high points, consistent with long term handling and display. Dimensions H 34.5 cm x W 16.8 cm. Material bronze.
