Tibetan Avalokiteshvara statue

Description

This Tibetan Avalokiteshvara statue is cast in bronze and represents the Bodhisattva of Compassion, one of the most important figures in Himalayan Buddhist tradition. The figure is carefully modelled with a calm facial expression and harmonious proportions, giving the sculpture a composed and contemplative presence.

The right hand is held in Varada Mudra, the gesture of giving and compassion, while the left hand holds a lotus flower, symbolising purity and spiritual awakening. These iconographic elements are central to Avalokiteshvara imagery and emphasise his role as a guide and protector of all beings.
