Thai Gilded Bronze Buddha under Nāga – Rattanakosin Style, 19th–Early 20th Century
A finely cast and richly decorated Thai bronze Buddha seated in meditation beneath the protective canopy of the seven-headed Nāga (Mucalinda). The image shows the Buddha in deep meditation, with the serpent king spreading his hoods to shelter him during enlightenment.
The statue is embellished with fire-gilding and glass inlays. The multi-tiered base is decorated with repeating geometric and floral designs typical of the Rattanakosin style (Bangkok court, 19th–early 20th century).

Material & Technique
Lost-wax cast bronze with original gilding and inset glass decoration. The underside is open, showing old casting and red-brown fill, consistent with traditional Thai workshop practice. Weight: approx. 4 kg.

Very good overall with age-consistent wear, partial loss to gilding, and some movement in glass inlays. These details confirm the statue’s authenticity and ritual use. No modern repairs detected in inspection.
