Description

This finely cast bronze figure represents Sri Lakshmi, the Hindu goddess of wealth, beauty, and prosperity. Made around 1920 in Tamil Nadu, South India, the sculpture stands 17 cm tall and weighs approximately 520 grams. Lakshmi is depicted in a traditional four-armed form, standing atop a double lotus pedestal on a square base.

The figure holds sacred objects in the rear hands (likely lotus blossoms) and displays the abhaya mudra (gesture of protection) and varada mudra (gesture of giving) in the front. These hand positions symbolize blessings, safety, and the granting of spiritual and material abundance.
