Bronze Figure of Guru Rinpoche – Nepal/Ladakh, 18th–19th Century
This finely cast bronze figure represents Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava), the tantric master who introduced Vajrayana Buddhism to Tibet. The statue, dating from ca. 1750–1850, was made in Nepal or the Ladakh region of Western Tibet. Guru Rinpoche is shown seated in royal ease posture on a double lotus base.
