This Chinese bronze incense burner is crafted in the style of the Xuande period (1426–1435), featuring a finely detailed Foo Dog finial on its openwork lid. The body is decorated with continuous floral scrolls and rests on three sculpted legs with lion-mask motifs. Two Foo Dog handles extend from the sides, adding sculptural and symbolic strength.
The solid bronze piece bears a Xuande mark in relief on its base, indicating its stylistic inspiration from the famous Xuande bronzes of the Ming dynasty. While the mark references the Xuande period, this censer is likely a later work, still retaining traditional Chinese bronze craftsmanship and aesthetic principles.
