Valuation Report (TAX5)
This Tibetan bronze statue represents Manjushri, the Bodhisattva of Transcendent Wisdom. The piece was examined using museum-grade analytical methods, including UV inspection, microscopic surface analysis, macro photography and internal cavity evaluation. These combined results confirm a pre-industrial Himalayan lost-wax casting with original fire gilding.
UV analysis of the interior shows naturally formed copper chlorides, salt crystallisation and multi-layered oxidation typical of authentic 20th century Tibetan bronzes. Microscopy reveals cuprite and malachite corrosion, gold residue in protected recesses, and no synthetic coatings or modern interventions. The casting structure and stylistic modelling – including the sword and Prajnaparamita sutra – are consistent with Tibetan Manjushri figures produced around the 18th century.
