This hollow cast Buddha is shaped in the iconography of the Medicine Buddha, holding a Bhaiṣajyakalasha medicine pot in the left hand while forming the Bhumisparsha mudra with the right. The sculpture is sand cast using a pre industrial lost wax method common to SinoTibetan ateliers in the 19th century, where figures and pedestals were cast separately and joined mechanically without modern welding. The robe shows broad, calm planes with soft, hand finished incised lines, and the double lotus pedestal carries remnants of early gilded accents along the edges, recessed lines, and ornamental borders, naturally worn through devotional handling. The patina is multi layered, built from copper oxidation, deep recess darkening, and mineral salt deposits in protected zones, consistent with aging seen on Himalayan trade bronzes circulating through Yunnan Tibet workshop networks. The piece carries ritual intent in both gesture and design, not decorative manufacture. Dimensions are H 38.5 x W 24.5 cm with a mass of 5.3 kg, matching a solid, hollow cast devotional bronze of significant scale.
