This impressive bronze sculpture depicts the Buddha in the classic Bhumisparsha Mudra (Earth Witness gesture), representing the moment of Enlightenment. The figure is characterized by its serene facial expression, downcast eyes, and the traditional flame-shaped ushnisha, embodying the spiritual tranquility of traditional Thai Buddhist art.

Authenticity & Craftsmanship

Cast using the traditional lost-wax (cire perdue) process, the statue exhibits an exceptional surface texture. The underside reveals the original mineral casting core—a petrified mixture of clay and sand containing visible charcoal fragments. These carbonized remains of organic binding agents are a definitive hallmark of pre-industrial production, confirming its status as an authentic antique rather than a modern reproduction.

The bronze possesses a deep, naturally developed patina with rich mahogany tones and areas of authentic green mineral oxidation. This oxidation is deeply embedded within the metal’s crystalline structure, a result of decades of natural aging and environmental exposure.
